Home equity
Your home has built value. Put it to work.
Equity is the part of your home you own outright. We'll match you with a home equity specialist who can explain how you could access it and what each option costs.

- ✓ No obligation
- ✓ Options with no monthly payment

This may fit if
You live in your home and owe much less than it's worth.
You'd like cash for home improvements, a big expense or paying off higher-cost debt.
You'd rather not add a monthly payment and want to understand a home equity investment.
Your credit has had a rough patch but you have a lot of equity.
It may not be right if
- You owe nearly all of what your home is worth.
- You only need a small amount. A personal loan may be simpler.
- You're not sure you could keep up with payments. Your home secures these products.
How it works

Answer a few quick questions
Tell us roughly what your home is worth, what you owe and what the cash is for. It takes about a minute and doesn't pull your credit.
- 2
Talk with a home equity specialist
If you may be able to access your equity, a specialist can walk you through how each option works in a short call.
- 3
You decide
There's no obligation. Compare the options side by side and only move ahead if one fits.
Good to know before you start
Your home is the security
A home equity line of credit (HELOC) or home equity loan is borrowed against your home. If you can't repay, you could lose it.
HELOC payments can change
Many home equity lines have a variable rate, so your payment can go up or down over time. There may also be closing costs and fees.
A home equity investment shares your home's future value
It isn't a loan and has no monthly payment. In return, the provider gets a share of your home's future value, which can cost more than a loan if your home rises in value.
Settling an investment may mean selling or refinancing
A home equity investment is settled when you sell, refinance or reach the end of the term. Providers only work in some states.
Questions people ask
Is Ledgerlane a lender?
No. We ask a few questions and connect you with independent, vetted home equity providers.
What's the difference between a HELOC and a home equity investment?
A HELOC is a line of credit you borrow from and repay monthly, with interest. A home equity investment gives you cash now with no monthly payment, in exchange for a share of your home's future value.
Can I check if my credit isn't great?
Yes. Some home equity investments are open to lower credit scores if you have plenty of equity. A specialist can tell you what may be available.
Will this affect my credit?
Our quiz doesn't pull your credit. A provider will check your credit when you apply.
Can I use it to pay off credit cards?
You can, but the debt doesn't disappear. It moves onto your home, so it's worth being sure you won't build the card balances back up.
